I find that teaching children about the weather can be one of the most interesting and diverse topics you can bring up. Children of all ages are so intrigued and hands-on with the learning activities because it involves something so fascinating they don’t quite understand yet. Even kids that we work with, the 1 and 2 year olds, love learning about the weather and you can see the excitement and curiosity in their eyes when we they not only get to learn about the snow and rain and the sun, but also get to play in it. As we all very well know, children learn through play.
I have created a mini lesson plan with 6 different activities. For this plan, I have worked on creating 3 manipulatives, as well as 3 block activities. I created 6 different activities you can pick from for your 5-day lesson planning schedule for the week. If you don’t like any of the activities, that’s why I included an extra one as a bonus you and your little ones might enjoy. This plan also goes hand-in-hand with the theme of Weather and weather elements. Here is what you will find in the mini lesson plan.

Solution:
I find that my work is the solution to many parents’ and caregivers’ struggles of finding entertaining and educational activities for their buddy toddlers. What you will also gain from this pack is time. As everything is already included, and listed for you to implement. There might be one or two things you might need to grab from the store, but otherwise, it is activities anyone can do in any setting.
How Many Raindrops Tall?

I have created this adorable activity, in which you print out the cutest raindrops, cut them, and have your little ones help tape as you measure your child’s height on the wall (or floor) with the raindrops.
Shape in the Snow

For this activity, you don’t even need my lesson plan to do it at home or at school. Simply take a cookie sheet and the shapes from any wooden puzzle. You’re going to need a box of baking soda that you will say is “snow” for this activity. After spreading the baking soda around the entire sheet, make impressions with the shapes in the “snow” and have the children solve the puzzle. This is a great problem-solving activity, sensory, and is great for learning to identify patterns such as shapes.
